The life app is another coaching activity that works in tandem with the wheel of life. The areas of satisfaction that need improvement can be discussed in a life app activity. Speaking of “teens,” in general, allows teens to open up and contribute at a safe distance, rather than talking about themselves.
If you ask the question, “what problem are you trying to solve?” or “what need are you meeting?” it makes it easier for teens to relate to as they begin to see themselves as part of a collective.
Although teens can appear very self-consumed, they identify with their friends and their groups more than they do as individuals. It is a process of self-discovery and finding your own voice that is taking place when coaching. This is a natural process, coaching makes it happen faster and safer and offers introspection and insight to teens that is fundamental to building resilience and self-esteem.
